We are new program this year, the Bellair Farm Volunteership! If you have wanted to learn a little bit about sustainable agriculture, get your hands dirty, and meet some great people, join us for this awesome program. Drop in any Tuesday from now until August 15. Farm manager Michelle McKenzie will give a talk on a topic in organic farming and then will lead the group in some related volunteer work on the farm. Leave with knowledge and fresh veggies! Sessions run from 8am-noon on Tuesdays.
We also host volunteers on an individual basis. Monday through Saturday we welcome volunteers to come work with us. There’s something for everyone to do, so whether you’re interested in just coming to check out the farm and meet the crew or being a regular volunteer, get in touch and let us know when you’d like to come out! Bring a water bottle, gloves, a hat and shoes you wouldn’t mind getting muddy.
For school and community groups or clubs that are interested in learning more about our farm, the local food system, or sustainable agriculture in general, we offer an opportunity to come out and do just that! Get in touch with us to plan a trip to Bellair that meets your group’s goals.
Stay tuned for details about our 2017 Workshop Series! We will be offering food preservation workshops, including lacto-fermented pickles, home canning, and kraut-making! Details (date, time, cost) can be found on our Workshops page.
