Late Winter Recipe Ideas

As the winter drags on, it can feel like the local food options are becoming really scarce. Fortunately, we live in an area with plentiful local food producers and winter farmer's markets. Below are some late Winter recipes that feature items that you can still source locally.

White Bean & Barley Soup featuring nearly all local & regional ingredients like tomatoes, barley berries. This blog post also includes instructions for making your own sprouts.

Apple Sorghum Galette
In addition to local apples & sorghum syrup, you can also use locally milled flour from Deep Roots Milling.

Bone Stock is a pantry essential, but homemade stock will take any Winter stew or soup recipe to the next level. You can use beef, lamb, chicken, or pork bones โ€” all of which we currently carry!

Weโ€™re proud to offer products from local and regional producers in our Barn Store all year long. You can pre-order these items for pick up at the Saturday IX Art Park Market or you can stop by the Barn Store this Winter. Check out the Winter Schedule here to see open hours and locations.
